After a now-infamous Vanity Fair profile of Courtney Love rocked the world, the rock singer has come clean with the truth regarding her battle with drugs: She used heroin while pregnant.
Years of conflicting statements have let the music world and fans wonder whether or not she had actually used drugs while carrying Frances Bean Cobain, but she admits in the new documentary, Kurt Cobain: Montage of Heck, which debuted at the Sundance Film Festival, that she did take the risk.
"I used it once then stopped," she says in the documentary. "I knew she would be fine."
Much of the documentary examines the Nirvana rocker's struggle with parenting and his desire to be the father he never had. Although there are no images of him doing drugs in the film, his descent into addiction becomes increasingly clear.
Although Love and her daughter have had a tumultuous relationship, the screening of the documentary brought the two back together where they posed together for photos at the Park City, Utah, festival.
